...competitive as its stereotyped? If one thinks about it, the competition consists of such a variety of people- from High School dropouts to Ivy Leaguer multimillionaires. But the majority of the Hollywood wannabes seem to pursue the industry for the wrong reasons-think its an easy way to wealth and fame, MTV, BET raised them etc..

You don't really see parents saying "oh don't go to Med school its too competitive!" or "Investment banking!!?? Law school!....you have to know people for that industry!" But face it, in those fields- med, law, and finance you are competing against individuals who have at least proven themselves very capable in academia and have financially invested in their future. Struggling performers on the other hand could have no financial capability or even have any real ability- creativity, physical ability and attitude to pursue the rat race.

My point is for individuals who have some ability your competition is inflated and exaggerated. Young adults pursue the industry for the wrong reasons. The media portrays the Entertainment industry as a rags to riches story, a quick way to get rich. Honestly that's got to be med school, or anything besides the Entertainment industry...
Opinions??
