Is bookit.com legit? Does anyone have good experience booking hotels from the site?

I'm looking to book a hotel for my trip to Chicago (Allerton hotel - Standard Room Two Doubles).
It looks like it is $50 cheaper than Expedia per night. However, I am wondering if the site is reliable due to bad reviews from customers. Many of them claim that the rooms were overbooked on arrival.

In this case, if I book early, I should be able to call the hotel ahead to confirm. Can't I? Is there any other possible problem (It looks like they got A+ from BBB, does this mean that they are 100% legit and safe?)
 
I just have to discourage you from doing that! I mean what's the point of having to save money if it's not at all 100% fool proof right? You don't want to risk time, money and effort. You can tell from the many bad reviews that the site offers lousy service. I think you should just find another alternative which has more positive feed backs.
