T The Wormist New member Jul 8, 2009 #2 no. won't stay on the hook. use fresh mackerel. but can probably use the canned for chum or baiting your catfish hole. punch some holes in it and toss the whole can out.

R Rusty Nail New member Jul 8, 2009 #3 This probably will not work. The fact that it is cooked makes it flaky and will not stay on a hook. Raw fish will though.
