Is Bobby Hill Based on Mike Judge?

Everytime I watch King of the Hill I get the sense that Bobby is based on Mike Judge. Hank Hill is this old fashioned conservative man who values hard work, a cold beer, and sports. Bobby, on the other hand, is a couch potato who enjoys the arts, good humor, geek-related stuff, and has more in common with his mother.

Since Judge is obviously an animator, writer, TV producer, and live-action director I can imagine he has a lot in common with Bobby Hill. Especially since his other creation, Beavis and Butt-Head, were basically two characters who spent half the day watching TV. So, he knows a lot about this culture apparently.

What are your thoughts?

It's possible, but I know that a lot of the characters he did in Beavis and Butt-Head, Office Space, and KOTH are based on people he knew in real life. Some of them could be hybrids of himself.

By the way, has B&B and/or Daria ever made a cameo appearance on KOTH? Is it even possible to do that? I thought it would be interesting if they tried to do that once before KOTH signed off on Fox.

Mike Judge said that he based Bobby Hill off of a boy that he saw in a store one time. So, no, Bobby wasn't based on Mike Judge.

Keyword: saw. He saw the boy. He didn't meet him. In other words...the physical appearence of Bobby Hill is based on that boy, but personality-wise he isn't.

That could also mean he saw the boy doing some things that would become Bobby's characteristics, like talking about entertainment, eating a fruit pie, trying to do stand up, etc. Just because it says he 'saw' the boy doesn't mean the kid was standing around like a lump of clay.

How many kids are going to be doing all of those things in a store in one day? 99% of most normal people ARE going to be just standing around like a lump of clay (a sad indicator of what passes as "normal" in our society?)
