Is Bell Planning anything special for the Olympics?

Like Muli-view channels or a group of special Olympic channels or anything?

Bell is a official sponsor.
 
Watched the opening ceremony on the PPV HD channel. No commentary or commercials. Excellent. I will be watching a lot on these PPV channels. Good job Bell for offering these.
 
Russ: My receiver doesn't ask for a PIN or password when scheduling a recording from the Olympic channels (having already placed the order by phone, as described above). Perhaps you have a parental lock set for PPV?

During the Beijing Olympics, Bell broadcast the raw feed without any commentary. You could hear the live sound from the events, e.g., the announcements over the PA system, crowd noises, etc. I assume the same will be true this time; we'll know for sure tomorrow.

By the way, there is a ski-jumping event at 10 am PT tomorrow, well before the Opening Ceremony, so you could watch or record that to learn what Bell's feeds will be like (assuming the forecast rainy weather in the Callaghan Valley doesn't force a postponement of the ski jumping).
 
I was wrong about Bell alternating coverage between Hockey & Curling one day, and everything else the next. What I failed to notice is that, for each busy day, their overview page contains links to two detail pages. So their coverage is even more extensive than I first thought. However, they still don't cover every event. For example, on Day 6, they miss all Short Track Skating and the Women's Downhill event.
 
Likely so they have some statistics as to who is watching it (or how many). They might need to justify the expense.

for the skiing on Friday at 1ET I went to PVR it and it said I had to order it and the cost is $0.00 so I did that and clicked on channel 995 and it gave a phone number saying if you call in and order you will get all 5 channels. I hope I wont be getting charged anything. Maybe someone could clear this up for me.
 
Can't find the "Order" button, but I'm in the late night. Do I have to do it during the day to do it online?

(It won't let me do the phone method, cannot find the registered phone number to match up).
 
As in the past would not expect any announcements from Bell TV until a few days before the games.
 
Tnx but I dont see anything on that channel. I looked all through and I put my guide on ALL CHAN and I don't see anything. I guess their only doing it for HD people this year. :( Well at least we have the free PPV channals in SD.
 
No, you won't be charged anything. The events you watch may or may not show up on your bill at a cost of $0.00. Read previous items in this thread for details on the phone-in procedure. One call gets you all events.
 
All events scheduled to be broadcast on OLN will also be shown on one of Bell's channels, so they will all be viewable in HD (and I won't have to subscribe to the Sports 2 pack :)).
 
When can I expect to see the SD olympic channels showing up on my guide? I don't see anything on Channels 381 to 385 yet.
 
February 10, according to Bell's announcement.
Probably no earlier than 10 am PST (48 hours before the first competition event), and maybe as late as 6 pm PST (48 hours before the Opening Ceremony).
 
I just went to 275. It instantly said "The interactive application is downloading" and within 10 seconds I had the 6 windows. I had called in a couple of days ago to enable the PPV package.

It's unfortunate that none of the awards ceremonies and live concerts appear to be on these channels!

In short, Bell TV will offer the same channels provided by every other major BDU in Canada but will also offer mobile video feeds to its Bell Mobility customers who pay for the service.
 
Oh okay but some of us don't have interactive. They always used to have a channel where we could see all the other channels. No big deal but it was nice before.
