I realize more christians have babies before they are out of high school, lose their virginity faster, and have a higher divorce rate than Atheists, but, as an atheist, I do have some concerns about marriage.
1.) Is a child better off by being a planned pregnancy or unplanned?
2.) Is a child better of by being in a planned committed union (marriage) or an unplanned one?
3.) Is the Atheist movement in America fostering the idea that marriage is meaningless?
-Atheist
I'm "for" civil marriagew, however i think it is a dissapointing movement for atheism and a somewhat positive one for homosexuals. I think the government should ONLY concern itself with secual concepts of "civil unions" and "marriage" should be left to the Church's as a legally meaningless activity within their church's
