Alrighty, I recently had a hard drive failure and had a to buy a new hard drive (320g) same as my last one. I installed Windows Vista from my recovery discs,( at the time I bought the laptop Windows 7 was not available yet and through Best Buy I received a free upgrade once it came out. I upgraded and all was well until the failure of that hard drive.
So here I am with my new hard drive and Windows Vista. I want Windows 7 back...every time I tried to upgrade it would tell me that .Net Framework 4.0 needed to be repaired...I ran a clean up tool that I found, and all is working. The only issue I have now is when ever I try to install the 65 windows updates I have waiting for me, Windows says it fails to configure the updates and that it's reverting back to changes. Some of these upgrades relate to .Net Framework 3.5 which I'm pretty sure the clean up tool uninstalled.
So at this point do I download Framework 3.5 since 4 was causing a problem and try the updates again? Can someone help?
