is anyone else proud of their ghostly pale skin?

well i know alot of people like tanned. But im pale but not just regular pale i mean when i walk out side from somewhere warm to the cold outside my skin reflect and almost glows palely white. my friends and I joke about it all the time. but frankly i love it plus i would look crazy strange tanned i think. But today i noticed like 2-3 that were pale and they were tanned (1 was spray tanned *~* i find that screwed......) but that made me wonder why does it seem like everyone hates pale skin?
 
I have really pale skin and I get teased by my sisters about it. When I go swimming, my skin literally glows white and you can see it so well. It's like a beacon. I think it's beautiful and pale skin used to be considered beautiful and associated with rich people in the older days.
I don't know how it got from pale to really ugly tan (I see oompa loompas everywhere!!).
