Is anyone else having problems installing Adobe Flash so you can chat from your inbox?

Recently, I lost control and capability to chat from my yahoo mail account. I feature I really like and find useful since I've got many friends and family I chat with. I also lost the capability to play some videos. My computer keeps telling me to install Adobe Flash 9.0.115 or higher. I've done so numerous times and still have the same problem. Can anyone out there tell me how to correct the problem other than uninstalling and installing again, because I've already tried that about 15 or 20 times? Is there anyone else with the same problem? Help, please offer solutions!
Yes, I did try to restart computer after installing the lastest version of Flash. Didn't work.
