Is anybody else tired of seeing the U.S. Flag used as a backdrop?

Campaign season is upon us. Many politicians of both parties will mount platforms decorated with numerous side by side U.S. Flags. One flag is sufficient. It represents the people of this great nation. Multiple flags serve no purpose except to be decoration. If one flag is not sufficient and more are required it makes the single flag and what it represents cheap. We don't drape a veteran's coffin with two flags, one on top of the other; what makes a politician think he is entitled to more?

Our military tradition of "ruffles and flourishes" often follows in kind with governmental speakers when in public.

To some it may be redundant but then again...I myself am very proud of my heritage and citizenship therefore representation of my country by display of flags doesn't bother me.

Of course, it's just a tool to get the unthinking masses all teary-eyed and stupid. It's symbolism is being cheapened by politicians, and we're just allowing it to happen.
