Is any Palm T reliable?

My 3rd T|E in less than a year, 2 within the last week, just developed major digitizing problems and will not turn off, I have to let it go to sleep. Sometimes the buttons work but I can't get to the main screen.

After reading this forum and all the problems, especially after reading Jim Cook say so many times that _________ is a known problem and to contact Palm, I'm really losing my faith in Palm products.

I can't afford $400-500 for one of the higher/bigger/more advanced models...and I'm not so sure any would work any better or more reliably. Plus I don't need all the business features they offer. The T|E was a perfect fit for me.

This current T|E is only 8 days old and I can get a refund but I need a Palm-type unit that runs Palm OS.

Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear about your problems. When the T|E was released, I bought one for my son and one for an employee. Both have been trouble free and very reliable.

Hopefully, your new one will be a workhorse.

Coming in late on this....I had digitizing problems with my T/2....they supposedly fixed it....now, 2 weeks later, it's worse than before.

PALM MAKES GARBAGE....I would never spend another $325 on their product again....I will be moving over to a Pocket PC.

I have a Z71 and a T3. and I had no problesm with either of them.
I bought them new and not refurbished.
If only the battery of my t3 lasted more I would be very happy with it.

Palm IIIc developed chronic digitiser problems. My TT had a bad digitiser, and my T3 is gradually worsening I think. :(
My hp4150, on the other hand, has never had a problem as yet.
I love Palm, but really they do have a problem with a lot of digitisers.

Well, I just got off the phone with some customer support person from India.....great, just what I like, talking with someone you can barely understand..... anyway,

after really laying into Palm (not him personally) he offers to get me an "Express Exchange" replacement unit...and will put me on their high priority list.

I say, "Yeah, and I'll bet $100 bucks that it's a refurb of someone else's problem T/2." He concedes that it is a refurb but says it will be just like new to factory specs.

I say, "They told me my original unit would be repaired to factory specs, and look how it came back....went to hell in 2 weeks. Why should I expect that this one will be any better???!"

So, I will see how it goes....but I'm not optomistic based on my past experience with these guys.

I asked the customer support guy if there was a United States Corporate number I could call if I wasn't satisfied with the new one and he said he could give it to me if I called back after receiving the new one- - if something was wrong with it.

I HATE dealing with CS when they farm it out to some foreign company. When I purchase my next PDA, which will be a Pocket PC....I'm going to research their customer service. I'll only buy from those that have support in the states.
