is and when is the palm pre 2 coming to verizon?

I got some mail form verizon that said the palm pre 2 was "coming soon" (this was early December) it also said that the Droid Pro was also "coming out" soon. Well the Pro is out but not the Pre 2. Any idea when it is coming out?

side note, one verizon employee said that it mihgt not come out at all, that palm and HP might split and so no palm Pre 2
is this true at all?
