Is an Intel iMac worth buying?

I'm only going to use it for surfing the net at home, listening to music, etc. I'm not in school so I won't need any programs for projects. Any advice or your own personal experiences with iMacs would be helpful. Oh, also, I plan to purchase it offline.
 
mac is only good for multimedia like music/web browsing/ editing vids/ basically for a social person...only problems is that most people dont have a mac and that there arent that many softwares out or a mac...and the games suck on a mac...but from what u said u should get a mac.
 
Unlike the first poster, I have had experiences with both. I prefer Macs and would recommend that you get a Mac unless you're going to be doing graphic intensive gaming. Mac's are great because you don't have to worry about viruses and spyware or the computer slowing down or crashing. I also really like the customer support. I did have a problem with my Macbook when I bought it, but I called Apple and they sent me a box with overnight shipping each way and I got my Macbook back in 3 days after sending it in. I was just tired of having to go through all the anti-virus crap on my Windows computer, and was willing to spend more for it. I saved up money, and spent double for my Mac of what it would have costed for a dell, but it was well worth it and I won't go back to Windows unless Apple stops making computers.
