Is an Associates in Science better than an Associates in Arts for a Nursing major?

Im attending Houston Community College in Houston,Tx. Right now Im taking my prerequisites for Nursing but what I'm a little skeptical about is what degree should I obtain. Since, Im competing with probably thousands of other people I'm thinking that an Associates in Science would be better, but I'm not sure if that even matters. I need some feedback
