Is America old News? Are people getting bored and moving on?

I dont think America holds the same weight it used to, even though americans would like to think so. Its pretty clear China is the superpower in the world right now, Chinese will be buying more cars than Americans this year as an example, a title held by the US for MANY years. Maybe people dont care as much and dont seem to give the US as much importance, seems like its declining; this'll also give the US some time to cool off and do some soul searching as a nation? Do you agree?
seems to me, the obsession with America, happens to be present within americans themselves.
