Is Alternative Rock & Other Genres Original/Good? (Intelligent Debate Only!)?

I'm not hating on the genre, cause I don't do that with anything/anyone, at least not without studying and learning, but is it/ the Artists original? Because, correct me if i'm wrong, but from what i've heard, it sounds like they copy each other's styles and voices, and the songs sound very similar. I'm not trying to be ignorant, but, still. Also, can you provide examples of Bands, Artists, Songs and Whatever. Also, I'm a huge Hip-hop fan, and it's been accused of a lot, but some people don't know about real Hip-hop, and they don't realize that their music has flaws just as Hip-hop does.
...Are you fuckin serious? All true music is music, and, if anything, most Country and Christian music as true as others. And that's being very ignorant, I said intelligent shit only. You're making Christians look like assholes.
 
Originally, no, it was all fairly original, but it always works the same way, when something gains power (in this case, bands gaining popularity), its bound to have imitators, which will in turn gain power, and create more imitators, it'll continue until something breaks the chain, but doing so will start a whole new chain as well.
 
Rock and alternative are different, but so many songs have been made in the history of songs in those genres that you will have to encounter some likenesses at one point. They're voices are different, but there's only so much you can do with a modulator. It's like saying, out of all the people in the world, EVERYONE MUST have a different favorite color. It is simply impossible.
Personally, rock, pop, and alternative are my favorite genres. Some bands/singers and they're good songs:

Correct me if I'm Wrong, but Hip Hop and Rap have been "Copying" off each other for the past 30 years... 70 percent of Rap Sounds the same,and it's always about the same three material objects...

Drugs
Money
Sex

Rock's not perfect, no Genre is.... But I highly doubt you will find a braoder range of Topics anywhere else in Music..
 
Okay, now I've read this question 3 times, let me get this straight. You don't hate any genre, but you seem to like Rap & Hip Hop crap that is more poetry than music. It's time to starting listening to real music. Have you ever listened to Phish, Gov't Mule, Allman Bros., Widespread Panic?
 
all music with string instruments stems from one or two general types back in the roman and greek times when they did the math and figured how to make each note and made each note, which started string instruments. wood instruments have been around a while but no scientific principal except making a couple notes. so if anyone thinks it isnt good music then they think any music could be considered bad. tell them it is a heavier standard of the classics and an original form of music. the only difference is we have technology now and we CHOOSE to use it.
