is acrylic paint harmful to your health?

I've been doing some painting in my room (where I sleep) and it just occurred to me that paint generally shouldn't be in your bedroom... so I'm wondering if acrylic paint (the ones artist use to paint on canvas - i'm just saying this in case someone didn't quite get which type of paint i'm referring to) is harmful if you kinda live and breathe in it for too long...
