You have to consider the fact that the old firm would by December already be virtually guaranteed a place in this play off. How many fans are going to travel to Inverness or Aberdeen. Im quite sure attendances would decline dramatically.
Why would anyone buy a season ticket for any team in the 1st half of the season when ALL the action only happens at the end?
And most clubs (especially the old firm) would not buy players in August. They'd wait to January to save money.
