I'm buying some travel insurance and I'm confused about whether or not I need to buy pre-existing medical condition coverage. I have a shunt (a medical implant in my head). This shunt has been stable for over 8 years now. I also have Crouzon's Syndrome (a craniofacial disorder that I was born with) that has also been stable for years and years now. I'm scared that if something goes wrong with my shunt and I end up in the hospital while traveling, the costs won't be covered by the travel insurance if I don't get the pre-existing condition coverage. But I also don't want to buy it if I don't need it. I tried to contact Travel Underwriters but they told me to read the policy wording...which I don't understand. Can anyone tell me if I need to buy the pre-existing condition coverage or not? Thanks.
