Is a Pontiac Grand Am GT considered a sports car?

I'm thinking about buying one, its a 2001 but im not sure how much it's going to cost to insure it.
 
when i bought mine my insurance guy told me on a scale of 1-20 my 01 grand am gt 2 door ranked a 12.

right now i'm paying about a grand a year for comprehensive through geico. i'm 24 with a speeping ticket last year of 56 in a 30. lol.oops.

It's probably considered a sports coupe if they have such a categorical distinction. Try one of the major sites like Geico to get an estimate on how much. You will probably get a couple of annoying emails. Just be careful what you click so no one calls you about it. Insurance probably won't be that bad.
