I'm 16, thinking of buying a car and I want to buy a used Jeep Grand Cherokee
I was thinking '99-'04.

What kind of gas mileage does it get?
Safety?
Anything else you may know about them is appreciated.

Thank you for your help!

It is an American and UAW made product. You are young; but, I think you have to realize the car maker may be out of business in the near term. You need a part to keep your 99 Cherokee on the road. You decide.

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. It runs good, is pretty safe as long as you don't drive really fast in it and it has pretty good performance. There is alot of room to store luggage and heavy stuff. You can have a tow package put on the back of your Jeep if you elect to. The controls are all easy to reach, handle and read. You can see everything around you. It drives really good through the winter time whenever it snows, ices up or in my case even when it floods, lol. Mileage wise ( I don't know where you live ) but here in St. Louis where gas is about $1.95 a gallon I get more gas for my dollar now. But on average you get about 17.5 miles to the gallon in the city and on the interstate it's about 20. I would say it get's fairly good gas mileage for the interstate. It also has about a 17 gallon tank too. Uh, just keep your coolant full, gas above half a tank, and keep up with the maintenance. Anything else just email me at [email protected]
