is a jeep cherokee 2.4 sport good for towing?

i have a jeep 2.4 sport its a petrol its a 2004 will it be ok to tow a bessacarr comeo caravan i used to use a 1.9 vauxhall zafia
 
It'll tow it without a problem (it's towing capacity is 2400kg, the caravan weighs between 1500 & 1900kg), but it will be frighteningly thirsty compared to the Zafira.
You've been lucky though - the Zafira 1.9CDTi is only rated to tow 1300 - 1400kg dependant on model.
As per previous answers you've had, diesels are far better for towing.
