Is a honda crx respectful to drive in?

i have a blue honda civic crx 1990, i work with kids alot and was thinking of putting a backseat in it and make it my daily driver. My job basically is a big brother, take them to movies, swimming, join them in hockey, ect. I was just thinking if i should sell my crx and buy a honda civic hatchback 1997, but i like the older cars, they have more character, there more lighter, parts are cheaper, gas is cheaper. How would i look if i pulled up in a honda crx? Maybe i'm focusing on my car to much, i mean if i meet a person i'm sure i'll give a better vibe then just "a kid who wastes there money" by the way i'm 20 and the crx only costed me 1500 dollars, so i actually got a good deal out of it. Thanks!

If ther CRX is running well you certainly would do well to keep it regardless of what somebody else thinks it looks like. Find your own happiness. If I was 20 and I had a CRX I'd feel darmed good about it.

I see nothing wrong with a well maintained older CRX. They have a good reputation for reliability, and get great fuel mileage. Older cars shouldn't garner any less respect, a friend of mine is a gastrointestinal surgeon, he drives a 1989 Camry. If you like it, keep it. My only concern would be the room, the space in a CRX is limited, you may be better off finding a well maintained Accord if the small confines become an issue.
