I am an experienced mountain biker, and I know this is the Ford Pinto to Lance Armstrong's Ferrari. I am not asking something along the lines of, "Are Huffy's good bikes?" I just moved to a city and need a road bike to get around and save the Gary Fisher for when i can get out of town. Will this bike do that without being more of a burden than an asset?

Yes it is and depending on how much you plan on using it is going to be your best guage of how often it will need to be serviced. Cant give you a Chart or graph or anything like that. You obviously realize what kind of bike it is, I think you know(and I wont say anything more on that). If you stay on top of it, it will likely work for you. I have seen many of these come into the shop in the last two months for the simplest of things that could have been prevented if the owner had a basic sense of bicycle mechanics and had been able to do the work themselves- they would have saved (all total) $700-900....(about 6 of these have come in in 2 months). If you know how to take care of one and have it checked thoroughly before you buy then you might be ok for a while.
At least you don't have to worry about anyone stealing it, jokes on them if they do and you are out nearly $0. The jury is OUT as far as I am concerned but as a juror I have made up my mind. They are terrible- 3 of 10!

Well, I have a GMC Denali and it is not a bike. It is an SUV or maybe a truck (GMC Sierra Denali). Maybe your confused..
