I want to get a second hand one. If I pass my test. I need some ideas on a good second hand car please ?

Other than the first year they were sold in the US they are very good little cars.

They are reliable (I've owned 2 zetecs, one a 1.6, the other a 1.8 TDCI).
Brakes are not that good but pads are cheap to replace.
Rear visibility is poor.
10000 service interval, 12500 for the diesel - this is long!
Lots out there so keen price.
Diesel model is very economical.

They are good cars, fairly reliable and parts/maintenance is cheap. The make pretty good race cars, too - since the suspension is well sorted right from the factory! Be sure to have a mechanic do a good pre-purchase inspection so you don't have any surprises!

if you're referring to the 2004-onwards model, then yes. it's actually a platform shared with the mazda 3 and volvo S40 of the same year, but even without the reference to those two cars, the focus has quite a reputation to be a solid car. it's a pretty good buy, if you find one with reasonable miles.

and remember to get a trusted mechanic to take a look at any focuses (foci?) you find before buying them, just to be sure your car doesn't turn into a cash pit. a big part of car reliability is the driving and maintenance habits of the owner.

I have had my focus for a while now and have had no mechanical problems with it,and they are a nice car to drive and look quite good to.
Mine is a 1.6 51 plate
