Is a Bachelor's in Economics from UCSB worth much to employers?

I'm accepted into UCSB this fall and want to major in economics. Should I go to UCSB and get an econ degree there, or should I go to community college then transfer to UCSD or UCI? (both UCI and UCSD have better ranked econ dept.'s than UCSB). I want to get a competitive job when I graduate. Thanks to all.
