Is a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 160,000 mile worth as much as a new transfer case?

I have to replace the transfer case on my 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the truck has 169,000 miles, is it worth it? Or should I invest in another used car? The transfer case is the 249j model.
