I'm getting conflicting stories. I lost the timing belt and if it is interference motor, I'm not going to bother repairing it. If you know of a reliable source please let me know. Thanks.

the Gates website says that the 3.5 beltdriven dohc engine is NOT an interference engine.

I have seen numerous occasions the timing belt has failed and have yet to see a bent valve on this engine.
They had tensioner pulley and water pump failures, sometimes the belt would just snap and some times it was just wadded up like a rodents nest.
I had one that got so hot the rubber from the belt adhered to every cog of both cam gears, it still ran great after I replaced the belt and tensioner pulley.
