Is a 3.5 good for freshmen year in college?

I have a friend and she was asking me about this, but really I don't know. She is going to community college because she didn't do that great in high-school. She is trying to go into be a RN. I told her that isn't like she is trying to get into medical school, but right now she is taking all the prerequisites and general ed's and I told her that she will do better when she gets into the nursing clinicals. Is this a good GPA for a freshman?
