Is a 2006 Honda Civic a good car for a new driver?

Hey, I'm a 16 year old guy looking for my first car. I know the car is safe from what my grandma has told me she drives a 2007 honda civic hybrid. And she said she's had no problems with it whatsoever. The only problem I had with this car is it's size. I fit well in it. But i'm a bit tall for my age i think? I'm roughly 5'10. My main problem is that I have a bad knee from a minor football injury my freshmen year in high school and I think me bending down to get in and out of the car could strain my knee. Is it a good reliable car? please give advice. I'd like to know everything there is to know, please help me out.
 
For getting you and your stuff from point A to point B as conveniently as possible, the Honda Civic may very well be the best car in world. That being said, they're a dime a dozen and boring to drive, so you may want to look elsewhere if you're looking for a unique or exciting car. All Civic model years are of high quality.
