I havent bought a vehicle in several years, and am now looking for something for a family vehicle.
We found a 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer edition so has all the options and the larger 5.4 engine. We love the room it offers and the safety of such a vehicle. It only has 63k miles. The asking price is $12,900. Would experts say this is a solid and safe investment?
I realize that gas mileage is poor, and we are ok with that as we have a small car for saving gas, and this vehicle wont be driven on long trips. My hesitation is the fact that it is a 2003, whereas we have found minivans and crossovers (Such as 05 Nissan Quest and 07 Chrysler Pacifica) that are slightly lower mileage, in the same price range, and newer, but dont quite offer the room, we really enjoyed our test drive of the expedition.
What would vehicle literate people recommend? Should I be hung up on the fact that it is an 03, or with the low mileage does it have the potential to last as long as an 05 to 07 of the other vechicles mentioned?
Thanks
