I am looking for a dirt bike to buy and thought about buying a 2 stroke, but i heard they werent good for trail riding. i want to mainly ride hills and woods and stuff like that around the farm. any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

there are 2 types of two strokes, trail bikes and motocross bikes. the 2 stroke trail bikes are great in trails, considering thats what they are meant for. i would rather have a four stroke though, they are much easier to drive. you dont have to change gears as much with a 4 stroke and you dont have to keep it high in the RPM's. and another advantage to 4 stroke is that you dont have to mix the gas and oil. go with whatever suites you best though. its all about your riding ability and preferance.

You want a 4 stroke. The 2 strokes are designed for wide open throttle. You'll likely kill yourself if you try and tackle a trail on a 2 stoke.

i think that a four stroke would be better for trail riding but a two stroke would do good to

Yes, two stroke dirtbikes are great for trailriding. They are easier to work on if they break down than four strokes and are more reliable and able to run harder than a four stroke. Two stroke bikes tend to be quicker than four strokes. I have a 90 KDX 200 two stroke and it runs excellent for the trails.

Generally people will say that you need to be on the "pipe", rapping it out. I would recommend a 250 and you may want to go with a heavier flywheel, that will help with your low end torque. Make sure you always carry a spare plug with you in case you foul one out.
