I'm 16, and I got my motorcycle license when I was 15. I started off riding my dad's 2004 250 Rebel, and as I progressed, he let me use his 1200 Sportster on rare occasions for just little trips. Recently, though, he took the Rebel back, so I was kinda stuck for a bike. But several months ago he bought another Rebel, a 1986, for his friend who was doing some work on his truck, and wanted one. Well, the friend never did the work, so he got someone else to do it. Seeing as he already has two motorcycles, has bills, and has a busy schedule, me and him are talking about me getting this bike. The engine is literally dissembled because the person we bought it from was rebuilding it and just stopped. It's been inside, though, so it's good. All I have to do is put it together, and it's mine. Would this be a good bike for me? What can I expect when I get it running? Is it gonna handle pretty much the same as the newer one I'm used to? Also, what important advice do I need to know when putting the engine back together?
