Is 6,000 dollars for a 2003 Mazda protege a good deal?

I'm looking to get a car. My father will help me with the down payment. Whatever I put don he will match. In other words, if I put down 1,000 he will put down 1,000. If I put down 2,000 he will put down 2,000. The car has about 82,000 miles and seems to be a good deal. If it's not what could I get for about 6,000 dollars that's good?
I was also considering a 2003 Suzuki Aerio Sedan that has about 67, 000 miles on it for the same price.
