Is 50MB internal storage enough for a mobile phone?

Trust me, phones these days put WAY too much memory on them than you actually need, my advice is if you are really desperate to get a better memory card then they are cheap from TESCO!
 
I've just bought the Samsung Tocco Phone from Carphone Warehouse for £79.95 but after ordering, I went onto the Phones4U website and it was roughly the same price but you get a free 8GB Micro SD Card. I'm a little gutted that I didn't check this out before hand but I was wondering whether 50MB is a good amount to have? And how many songs/photos/videos will that store? And also how much are the cards to buy in case I have to buy one now? Thanks for any help. :)
