Im going to order the 14t sprocket, but i am wondering if I should go ahead with the 520 conversion with a new carrier, rear sprocket, and chain as well.
Any input would be nice

If you want to get a new chain, carrier and rear sprocket, you might as well skip the 14T purchase all together. Just get a 41T or 42T rear and you will be set.
 
Thanks... I really don't have much experience with chains/sprockets. I am seriously looking at replacing it all.

Carbon and exhausts are easy to shop for. When it comes to actual mechanical upgrades, I am lost. This is the first bike I have ever decided to just throw money at.... I usually just ride them how they come stock.
 
he said he was doing a 520 conversion which means he'll have to buy a 520 front sprocket anyway, are you just suggesting for him to buy a 15T front and 41 or 42 rear or what?
 
Thats how i was understanding it. I am reading up on it now.... seems less wear on the chain if you go up on the rear instead of down on the front...

Any good ideas on chains and carriers??
 
I was'nt thinking about the conversion. Duh!! So yeah, he will have to replace both but since he's gonna replace the rear anyway, I'd go up 2 or 3. He could stay with a 15 front unless he really wants some unbelievable low end with 14T as well. I have always been told by my dealer and others that its best to go up in the rear as the chain can rub on the swingarm with the 14T. I have'nt heard any horror stories yet though. Its quite a bit more expensive, changing the rear but it also adds bling.

I got the 41T supersprox with gold DID chain. It looks sweet and performs great too!!

As Brett said... Go with sprocket center.. They sell the complete conversion kit..

If I might suggest.. The Super Sprox with DID ERVIII chain is the way to go..



Just put a set on today as a matter of fact..
