I'm an Aussie and am thinking of doing backpacking for a year...
I don't really want to have to stop and work for a month to survive...I don't plan on driving anywhere but mostly catch trains and buses to where I need to go...
I'll be visiting cities aswell as rural areas of Australia...
I already live here so getting here won't be part of my budget...I don't drink so going out and partying isn't going to be the purpose of this trip. I plan on going out any finding out as many interesting things as i can about australia...
I don't expect to be living in a 5 star hotel and eating the very best...I expect it to be a challenge.
Is $1000 a month enough for transportation, food and accommodation? Or is it cutting it fine?
I have $8000 saved up so far so I have to save up another $4000 and I'm planning on leaving at the end of this year or start of next year.
