Is $100 enough to compensate for a paint chip and small dent on a new Honda Civic?

I rear ended someone and their was a penny sized paint chip, exposing bare metal. Also a linear horizontal dent (barely visible). I gave the guy a $100 to settle for it. We wanted to avoid insurance intervention. Was $100 fair enough? Should I have given more/less?
 
yeah your cool BUT if your handing out money--------------you sEe i got this old crap computEr that i have to usE an old type writer that bEen wired up to the keys and Each time i hit the eeeeeeEEEeeEee button it shocks mE.
