Iron Man Vs Dark Knight

Which film do people here prefer? I preferred Iron Man :o I thought The Dark Knight dragged on a bit and took itself a bit too seriously. Iron Man was awesome! :)

The Dark Knight.

The final battle in Iron Man felt forced and crammed in. Although the film itself was beautiful and had some very funny parts in it.

But the Joker MADE the Dark Knight for me.

The Dark Knight was a fantastic film but went on for too long and had a bit of a hackneyed ending, Heath Ledger's The Joker will go into the annals of movie villain history though alongside the likes of Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter in Silence Of The Lambs and Robert Mitchum as Harry Powell in The Night Of The Hunter.

Iron Man was good enjoyable fun, Robert Downey Jnr was brilliant as Tony Stark and its a shame to hear Terence Howard won't be reprising his role in the second one(he's been strangely replaced by Don Cheadle) but i thought the film could've done without Jeff Bridges and Gwyneth Paltrow.

I didn't think the Howard thing was official at all, even the director himself said that he thinks Howard will be back in the role when he was interviewed at some comic convention. I sure hope he is right because I like Howard, and can't really stand Cheadle. Or has Howard himself said so.

I personally didn't like Iron Man, but thought Dark Night was brilliant.

My reasons for not liking Iron Man are as follows; Too boring, just couldn't get into it. Thought the actors were smarmy, and the film was on the whole a little too patriotic.
E.g; ' I'll have an American cheeseburger.'- Tony stark.

In the comic books, Tony Stark is a smarmy, not exactly pleasant guy. To that end, I think the writer and RDJ did a bang up job.

Back to the OT, I thought they were both great - as they both achieved what they set out to do perfectly. Of course, what they were trying to do were pretty radically different things. The one I can reasonably objectively call a "better" film is Dark Knight. The one I know I'll watch repeated times, Iron Man.

So... Ah... I don't know. I'll plump for Iron Man, purely for the unabashed fun factor.
