Iron levels in blood test

Hi,
I just got my results back from a blood test i did, testing for Anemia.
However it came back that my iron was

Iron 34.4 umol/l
normal range 9-30

saturation 60.0 umol/L
normal range - 10 - 45

everything else was normal, although i had really high folate ....

does anyone know if this is ok?
is my saturation really bad?
I'm worried about that genetic disorder Hemochromatosis... however no one in my family has it - could it be that the bloods were held wrong before they tested it or something?

My sugar was low also, but i hadn't eaten before i got the tests done ( morning)

Are you supplementing with iron currently? If you took iron before the test it can make your levels test high. Did you have a CBC? How were those levels?
 
Hi, I don't know what CBC means...

my transferrin was normal
TIBC normal
Ferritin Normal...

everything else was fine,
I had high folate and low blood sugar.....

but i don't eat meat really and i haven't been supplementing my iron.
my doctor thought I might be low in Iron hence why he took the tests ....
 
Come over to the anemia board and post your question along with your results and lab ranges. Put in your post you were not on iron supplements at the time of the testing.
