I was wondering if the relationship between the Irish and English resembled the one the English had with the Scottish in the movie Braveheart. Did the English at any time move into the Irish' space and take Irish prisoners etc. especially within this time period? If not, what time period did the English ever do this? Did the English set up governments or guards in Ireland and did English families ever settle there to make their mark on Irish society within these times? Were the Irish killed by the English or were they persecuted by the English. It is very important that I know. I would really appreciate a thorough answer. Thank You.
