IR remote anyone having issues?

I dont think its my mx-810 IR learning remote, since most other devices work as should. But the last few weeks I noticed my IR learning remote has become alot weaker when opperating my 9242! I have to be right up to it all of a sudden to make it work. I even taught the code from the bell remote to each on my mx-810. Still its having trouble operating the 9242. Any ir universal remote users noticing difficulty operating it? Maybe a firmware update did something?

OR is my mx-810 IR getting weaker? It still seems to operate all my other devices fine.

3 MX-500's here, and can control the 9242 even through a blanket no problem!
Have a sony LCD, have to wait app. 15 seconds after first turned on to work best.
