iPod Touch has nothing over the iPhone except the largest iPod Touch memory storage is 32 GB. iPhone's largest is 16 GB.

iPhone stuff iPod Touch doesn't have:
Looks
External Volume Controls
External Speaker
Microphone
Camera
GSM Radio (this is what makes a cell phone get a signal....so phone, texting, internet anywhere you can get a signal)
Silent Switch
Bluetooth.

There's no reason for the iPod Touch to have any of these (except for the external volume controls...[even other music players don't have external speakers, so I won't count that])

iPod Touch 32 GB, 16 GB, or 8 GB

iPhone 16 GB, or 8GB

There's no reason for someone to get an iPod Touch if they have an iPhone. As for the other way around, whilst it's a waste of money, it still makes more sense.
