iPod Touch Crew... Anyone experiencing those screen issues?

Where the blacks appear as "negative blacks" when watching a movie or viewing images?

I was going to try and buy one this week before a long business trip, but if this issue is as widespread as it seems, i'll just hold off and wait until afterwards to buy one, after the 28th.

I hear mixed things right now. I won't be getting mine till oct.2 hopefully I avoid the problem. Some people are getting good ones and some bad ones.

But to me I am using it for the Mp3 aspect of it not the video.

Right, but even coverflow is affected on the ipod touches that people are experiencing this with. That would really piss me off.

Not from apple But you can get them at some retail stores (Apple Store, Best Buy). I picked mine up at Best Buy and now I have to return the one I ordered from Apple when they decide to ship the damn thing.

I'm an engineer with experience in the LCD industry and after seeing enough photos of the Ipod Touch I feel that I can make a pretty accurate assessment of the "black level" situation. It appears to me that it's a problem with the anti-reflective coating. The good news is this is most likely a temporary situation due to quality control issues.

How about when it crashes and comes up looking for the iPhone or camera? Are those issues fixed yet?
