iPod touch Bluetooth?

Hi, i know the iPod touches Bluetooth can only pick up Bluetooth devices version 2.1 a2dp
But I have a ear piece that is Bluetooth v2.1 a2dp but the iPod won't find it???
Help!?!?!

Ps. I've made sure both devices Bluetooth are on!
