I have an iPod Touch 3g (32GB) - Model MC008LL. It is jailbroken on 3.1.3 (7E18).
I am looking to upgrade to a 4.x.x firmware, whether that is 4.0, 4.1, or 4.2.1.
Yes, I know, greenposi0n is out, same with limera1n, sn0wbreeze and redsn0w. These all can complete untethered jailbreaks for MC models.
My Problem? So much outdated information online, I can't seem to find the right info.
Today is December 23rd, 2010. I need current info. Thanks...
I need to find the right tool and firmware to suit my needs:
- Untethered
- Custom Boot Logo
- Custom Recovery Logo (Connect to iTunes)
- Reliable
- Works on iPod Touch 3G MC model
Remember, sn0wbreeze 2.1 can only create custom boot logos for iPhone 3G.
redsn0w 0.9.6b6 (for 4.1) cannot create custom boot logos for iPod Touch 3G.
I get the "Unable to recognize specified IPSW" error with redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5 and firmware 4.0 (8A293) Am I using wrong versions? Both are legit copies (NOT 4.0GM)
Greenposi0n doesn't create custom IPSWs.
Please let me know whatever info I need - I have been away from the jailbreaking scene for a while. No need to dumb down, but please explain thoroughly!
