The simplest way is to connect your ipod through an FM sender lkike this;

No need to change anything else & your steering wheel controls still work

I have a 2004 model focus with a standard stereo. What's the most cost effective, compatible solution to hook up my ipod? The ideal solution would allow me to use the stereo control paddle on the steering wheel.

I would prefer not to use an itrip as this ruins the quality
