Ipod/Nano/5th gen.-formatted on Apple. Took videos on Nano. Need to get vids onto my pc

- no more apple. Help.? The Nano won't read on my pc unless I reformat. If I reformat, I lose the videos. Want to save the videos before reformatting the Nano to a pc. This would be easy if I had access to an Apple. Any idea? Thanks,
