iPhone warranty question.?

ok so i have a 4gb iphone and i dropped it the other day. now where the back plate meets the chrome part is now splitting apart. my warranty is good till june. i was wondering if this is covered and what steps would i need to take to get it fixed. the closest apple store is like 1 1/2 hours away and i dont feel like driving there, but if all else fails ill just drive there. so help?
when the iphone 1st came out they had 4gb ones. i waited in line for mine and i hate to see it damaged. -_-
 
Call AT&T and see what kind of coverage you have and they may mail you a new one with postage to return the old one. I don't know if At&T covers since they are the only providers for the Iphone but they should give you suggestions to. One thing though, they don't make 4gb Iphones, only 8 and 16??????
