iphone troubles att.com refurbished iphone 3gs 16g?

i am about to buy the iphone 3gs 16 gig from att.com it cost 100 dollars i want to know what kind of shape would it be in would it be scratched dented possible broken or when people give them back do they replace every thing like the screen the case etc. is it worth paying the extra 100 dollars and getting the brand new one because i really only want to spend 100 dollars so i need to know what kind of shape it would be in.
 
No One Knows What The EXACT Condition Will Be. They Just Guarantee That It Works. Most Refurbs Are Usually Not Bad At All. Most Look New. It All Depends On What They Give You.

EDIT: I Agree. I Wouldn't Get A Refurb. Just Use The $99, And Get A New 8GB 3GS.
